According to a closeout memo obtained Thursday by Local 10 News, the wife of Jordan Stefan Cristancho, 34, appeared for a “pre-file conference appointment” on July 2 and stated that “she does not want to testify in court and does not want to be contacted regarding the case. The victim stated that she blocked the defendant and he stopped attempting to contact her after she blocked him. The victim is not afraid of the defendant.”
The memo also states that there was not an independent witness to the alleged crime and prosecutors did not have enough evidence to pursue the charges.
According to an arrest report, Cristancho and his wife met in June 2023 and were married for about eight months.
Police said Cristancho’s wife “ended the marriage” on June 9 because Cristancho told her he had not been sexually satisfied with her during their marriage.
The report alleged that approximately four months before their relationship ended, Cristancho used his wife’s dog for “sexual gratification” purposes, which he disclosed to her during a recent argument via text message.
Police said the wife then received text messages from Cristancho on June 14, pleading with her not to end their relationship.
“The victim told the defendant to stop contacting her and she blocked the defendant’s telephone number and his social media accounts,” the responding officer wrote. “From then, the defendant created multiple social media accounts to contact the victim, harassing her.”
Miami-Dade police said Cristancho was taken into custody June 28 and transported to the department’s Midwest district station for questioning.
Cristancho’s arrest report states that he made a confession, but it was fully redacted in the publicly released report.
Jail records at the time showed Cristancho was facing one count each of engaging in sexual conduct with animals, aggravated stalking, harassing or cyberstalking and threating or harassing through phone calls.
Records show all charges have been dropped. Prosecutors noted in the closeout memo that Cristancho does not have any other previous arrests in Miami-Dade County.
