BSO detectives investigate fatal shooting in Pompano Beach

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office are investigating a shooting that they say left a man dead in Pompano Beach Wednesday night.

It happened around 7:15 p.m. near the 2600 block of Northwest Sixth Street, according to BSO spokesperson Claudinne Caro.

Upon arrival, first responders located Stanley Jennings, whose age was not released by detectives due to Marsy’s Law, suffering from a gunshot wound, authorities confirmed.

Investigators said Jennings was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

According to Caro, deputies detained the alleged shooter at the scene for questioning and do not believe any other individuals were involved in the incident at this time.

Authorities have not released any information on the alleged shooter as of Friday morning.
