Victim dies following double shooting in Miramar; culprit remains at large

MIRAMAR, Fla. – A man has died following a double shooting at a warehouse district in Miramar Tuesday, authorities confirmed Thursday.

Miramar police have identified the victim as Devon Blake, 58, of Davie.

The shooting occurred sometime Tuesday afternoon near Coaster Furniture, located at 10700 Enterprise Way.

That’s where a witness told Local 10 News’ Terrell Forney they heard several gunshots and saw the person who pulled the trigger.

Detectives have since confirmed a description of the shooter, that the mask-wearing gunman was wearing dark pants, sneakers and sunglasses along with an orange shirt and was believed to be at least six feet tall.

A section of the Miramar Commerce Park was placed on lockdown Tuesday for several hours after the shooting.

K-9s were brought in to help sniff out the direction where the shooter fled, but cops were not able to take anyone into custody.

Sky 10 was over the scene as the two shooting victims were wheeled away and rushed to a nearby hospital.

At last check, authorities confirmed the other victim involved in the shooting remained listed in critical condition as of Thursday morning. He or she has not been identified by police.

A man who was working nearby told Local 10 News that at least one of the victims was standing in line at an outside food truck when they were hit.

Police said the relationship between the victim and the suspect or suspects, as well as the motive for the shooting, remains unclear at this time.

Anyone with information on the shooting is urged to call the Miramar Police Department at 954-602-2100 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.

Local 10 News reporters Rosh Lowe and Alex Finnie contributed to this report.
