3 hospitalized, including 2 Miami-Dade officers, after squad car crash

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Three people were taken to the hospital Thursday morning after a crash involving a Miami-Dade police cruiser, according to fire rescue officials.

The crash happened at around 10 a.m. in the area of Southwest 197th Street and 114th Avenue in the county’s South Miami Heights area, near Miami Southridge Senior High School.

Video from Sky 10 shows the officer’s cruiser crashed through a fence and nearly into the side of a home. A silver Toyota Camry was also damaged.

According to Miami-Dade police, the two police officers in the cruiser and the civilian injured in the crash were “stable” as of Thursday morning.

Authorities haven’t yet said what led up to the crash or whether they’ve determined who was at fault.
