According to an arrest report from the Bal Harbour Police Department, the couple, an 80-year-old woman “suffering from physical and mental decay” and her 66-year-old husband hired Budasoff to “assist in personal and financial matters.”

Police said she worked for the couple for a year and a half. The report states that during that time, Budasoff made $36,182 in unauthorized charges to the 80-year-old’s credit card.

Authorities said Budasoff turned herself in at BHPD headquarters Tuesday on charges of second-degree grand theft, elderly exploitation, credit card fraud and unlawful possession of a stolen credit or debit card.

Jail records show a Miami-Dade judge set her bond at $7,500 after finding probable cause to charge her. She remained at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center as of Wednesday morning.
