MIRAMAR, Fla. ā An investigation is underway after a shooting was reported Tuesday morning at a business center in Miramar, authorities confirmed.
According to Miramar Detective Yessenia Diaz, who is also a spokeswoman for the police department, the shooting was reported in the area of the Miramar Park Commerce in the 10900 block of Enterprise Way.
She said the 911 caller reported that there were two victims.
Sky 10 was above the scene shortly before 11 a.m. as a man was seen sitting upright on a stretcher.
A short time later, first responders were spotted doing chest compressions on another person.
Diaz told Local 10ā²s Rosh Lowe that businesses in the area were placed on lockdown as a precaution. A Local 10 viewer who works in the area said the all clear was given to his workplace around 2:45 p.m.
At that time, police tape was still seen blocking off the business where the shooting occurred.
Local 10ā²s Liane Morejon was told at the scene that the shooter or shooters remain at large but have left the area and a police perimeter has since been cleared.
Local 10 News spoke with a man who stated that the victim was his co-worker. According to the witness, the victim was waiting in line for a daily food truck when the shooter approached and shot him.
āI heard the shots, ran outside and then I saw a guy with a mask running that way. He had an orange shirt and a black mask,ā the man said.
No other details were immediately released.
