SUNNY ISLES BEACH, Fla. – Miami-Dade police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found in the Intracoastal Waterway.
The body was discovered Monday morning near the 400 block of Sunny Isles Boulevard.

Sky 10 was above the scene just after 10 a.m. as the victim’s body was covered by a yellow tarp in the back of a Sunny Isles Beach police boat.
Because the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department does not have a homicide unit, the Miami-Dade Police Department has assumed the investigation.
A MDPD spokesman said they are currently investigating this as an “unclassified death.” The spokesman said it’s unclear at this time whether foul play was involved.
