On Friday afternoon, officers were monitoring an Instagram account known to belong to Martinez, who had previously been arrested for illegal intersection takeovers, police said.

Authorities said there were several posts about an illegal event set to take place that evening.

The same posts were being shared by another account that investigators knew belonged to Martinez, according to an arrest report.

Officers in unmarked vehicles were tracking the social media posts and were able to catch up to both suspects as they traveled from one takeover in Hialeah to another in Opa-locka, according to the report.

Police said they knew Martinez drove a 2013 black Dodge Charger and observed the vehicle along Northwest 183rd Street near 57th Avenue at approximately 2:40 a.m. Saturday.

After conducting a traffic stop, officers said they were able to take both suspects into custody.

Police noted in the arrest form that after the arrests were made, there were no more takeover locations shared on the social media accounts.

The two suspects were arrested and taken to jail without further incident, police said.

They each face charges of facilitating drag racing on a highway.
