MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Two men were arrested in Miami-Dade County Thursday after police say they tried to pawn counterfeit jewelry while using fake IDs last week.

Miami-Dade police said an employee from the Naranja Trading Post, located at 732 S. Krome Ave, alerted authorities after a man, identified through a fake Illinois driver’s license as 36-year-old Manuel Lora, pawned jewelry for $2,400 on June 13.

Police said after further investigation, the jewelry was discovered to be fake.

Detectives had previously warned local pawn shops about two individuals attempting to pawn counterfeit jewelry, according to an arrest report.

Police said the Naranja Trading Post North Store, located at 26799 S. Dixie Hwy., reported another incident Wednesday involving the same individuals.

This time, a man, who police identified as Felix Corporannina, 31, of the Bronx in New York, attempted to sell counterfeit jewelry, according to investigators.

Both men were turned away, and the shop provided a description of their vehicle, authorities said.

Police said they stopped the vehicle and found the driver, who they identified as 37-year-old Noel Loramateo, in possession of two different driver’s licenses from different states, both with his photograph.

Loramateo was taken into custody after refusing to provide his personal information, according to the report.

Corporannina was also found with multiple fraudulent driver’s licenses and was arrested, the report stated.

Both suspects were transported to a Miami-Dade police station for questioning, where authorities said Corporannina invoked his rights and declined to speak to detectives.

According to jail records, Corporannina is facing one count each of fraudulent use of identification and organized scheme to defraud.

Both suspects no longer appeared as inmates on the Miami-Dade Corrections’ website on Friday afternoon.

Local 10 News has requested the arrest report for Loramateo. His exact charges are unknown at this time.
