MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – A 29-year-old Miramar man was arrested Thursday by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office following a traffic stop in Marathon in which multiple fake credit cards were found, along with IDs, phones, computers and the personal information of others, authorities said.

According to MCSO spokesman Adam Linhardt, Jackie Webster was arrested on a warrant following a fraud investigation that stemmed from an October 2023 traffic stop on a Volkswagen sedan in which Webster was a passenger.

Linhardt said the car was not registered and the tag on it was not assigned to the vehicle.

According to the warrant, the driver, who had her 3-month-old baby with her, was issued a criminal citation for operation of the unregistered motor vehicle.

The warrant states that the woman was told by a deputy that her vehicle was going to be inventoried and towed and then asked her what she wanted removed from the vehicle.

Authorities said the woman said she wanted all of her belongings out of the car, so the deputy began to assist her in taking out her belongings.

“A search turned up numerous fake credit cards and IDs as well as a printer used to create fake cards. Also found were phones, tablets, and computers — including one computer labeled ‘scams,’” Linhardt wrote in an email to Local 10 News.

According to Linhardt, Webster was also in possession of hundreds of sets of personal identification information “such as names, social security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, bank account numbers and bank log-in numbers.”

The warrant states that Webster told the deputy that all of the items inside the vehicle were is.

Webster was booked into jail on Thursday on charges of fraud, forgery, larceny and counterfeiting.
