BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – A 55-year-old man stabbed another man who confronted him for trying to watch his wife urinate Monday, leading to his arrest on an attempted murder charge, according to a Broward Sheriff’s Office arrest report.

The report states that Morally Watson was trying to watch the 56-year-old woman urinate behind a bus bench in the 2700 block of West Sunrise Boulevard in unincorporated central Broward.

Deputies said the victim, the woman’s 69-year-old husband, stood between them and told Watson to “go away.”

Watson, whom neither the victim nor his wife knew, told the man he was going to “return with a blade,” the report states.

Deputies said Watson came back with a machete and the victim “armed himself with a small tool and bug spray to defend himself.”

The report states that Watson swung the machete at the man’s head and stabbed the victim twice in the hand as he protected his head.

“If (the victim) did not protect his head, Morally’s strikes could have resulted in (his) death,” a BSO detective wrote.

Deputies said after arriving, they had to apply a tourniquet to control the victim’s “severe bleeding.”

The report states that they located Watson, who lives in the area, nearby and took him into custody.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Watson was being held without bond in the BSO Main Jail, online records show.
