South Florida high school student graduates with perfect attendance, impressive resume

Earned Silver cord for completing 4,500 community service hours

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A Miami Northwestern Senior High School student has graduated with perfect attendance throughout his whole school career, from Pre-Kindergarten until 12th grade.

Keith NaShawn Holmes Jr. not only graduated high school with stellar attendance, but he also kept busy as a dual-enrollment student at Miami-Dade Community College and received a Silver cord for completing more than 4,500 community service hours.

Holmes pushed through after the death of his father and spent time working with children with physical and intellectual disabilities with the Shake-A-Leg Miami program and is also part of the 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project.

Holmes will be attending Bethune Cookman University in the Fall and will major in Business.

Miami-Dade County Public Schools is the third largest school district in the United States with more than 331,000 students.

69 high schools in the district held ceremonies for graduating high school seniors in 2024, according to the district’s website.
