Deerfield Beach man accused of shooting woman, baby before turning gun on himself

BSO: Suspect remains hospitalized in critical condition

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. – A 27-year-old man is facing charges after Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies say he shot and killed a woman and baby before turning the gun on himself.

The shooting was reported around 5:45 a.m. Thursday in the 4000 block of Eastridge Drive.

According to BSO spokesman Carey Codd, deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue personnel responded to the scene and found the suspect, Andre Lanns, in the street suffering from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Paramedics transported him to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

According to Codd, deputies later found a woman, identified as Marrina Guadagnino, and an infant, identified as Andre Lanns III., inside a nearby home.

They had both been shot and were pronounced dead at the scene by deputies, Codd said.

Codd said detectives have since obtained an arrest warrant for Lanns for two counts of first-degree murder.

A motive for the killings remains unclear. Although Lanns and the baby share the same name, authorities have not confirmed the relationship between Lanns and the victims.

Codd said the investigation is ongoing.
