WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – A three-time convicted felon from Broward County was arrested on Thursday in connection with a violent armed robbery at the Red Lobster where he was employed in West Palm Beach, according to police.
Authorities said the incident took place around 11 p.m. on April 14, when a masked individual, who West Palm Beach police identified as Ta‘Shambae Saleme Greene, 35, of Lauderhill, broke into the closed business, located at 2201 Palm Beach Lakes Blvd., and held the manager and another employee at gunpoint.
Surveillance video obtained by Local 10 News shows Greene holding the gun up to the manager’s head before striking her with it and ordering her to unlock the safe, according to police.
Police said Green took an undisclosed amount of cash and stashed it into a duffle bag. He also grabbed the manager’s iPhone 15 before fleeing the scene.
Police said one employee recognized the robber’s voice and identified him as a cook at the restaurant named “Sean,” which is Greene’s nickname.
Authorities said Greene had been dismissed from his shift and was sent home around 6:30 p.m. on April 14 due to low business activity at the restaurant.
Authorities confirmed a search warrant was executed at Greene’s residence on April 26 which yielded incriminating items, including attire matching the robber’s description, a substantial amount of cash and a gun that they say was consistent with the one used in the robbery.
WPBPD said Greene was taken into custody Thursday afternoon at his residence by the U.S. Marshal’s South Florida Fugitive Task Force.
Greene was subsequently transported to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Main Detention Center and is facing one count each of robbery, wearing a mask while committing a crime, and illegal possession of a firearm as a convicted felon. He also faces two counts of false imprisonment, according to jail records.
His bond amount has not yet been released.
