Man and teenager injured after shooting prompted a crash into a tree in Miami-Dade

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A man and a teenage boy were injured on Friday night after a shooting prompted a car to crash into a treen in Miami-Dade County’s West Perrine area.

According to Detective Angel Rodriguez, a spokesman for the Miami-Dade Police Department, ShotSpotter technology detected a shooting shortly after 10:45 p.m., near Southwest 179 Street and 109 Avenue and police officers responded.

“They discovered a vehicle had crashed into a tree and was occupied by three males, two adults, and one juvenile,” Rodriguez wrote in a statement.

A man and a teenager were wounded during the shooting.

“Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded and transported the injured to an area hospital in stable condition,” Rodriguez wrote.

The investigation into the shooting continued on Saturday morning.
