Miami police said the victim and suspect, Elier Magdiel Barillas Blanco, 25, had lived together for the past two years, but had recently broke up.
The victim told police that she went to the home to pick up her belongings and the two began to argue.
According to the report, Barillas Blanco threw an alcoholic beverage at the victim, wetting her hair.
He then asked to see the victim’s iPhone, which she denied, authorities said.
Police said Barillas Blanco then went into another room, grabbed a construction drill and pressed the trigger, revving the drill as he approached the victim.
According to the report, Barillas Blanco then held the drill about 6 inches away from the victim’s head and demanded her phone.
Police said the victim handed over her phone and Barillas Blanco walked outside and went through it.
“He then threw the phone in the air and let it smash into the ground, causing the phone to break,” the report stated. “The victim grabbed her damaged phone from the ground, ran to her vehicle and entered it. The defendant ran after her and kicked the driver-side mirror, causing it to break off the vehicle completely.”
Police said the victim then fled the scene and called police for help.
Barillas Blanco was located Thursday and arrested on charges of armed robbery, criminal mischief and battery – domestic violence.
