Key Largo divers uncover suspected cocaine stash in Atlantic Ocean

MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – Over two dozen individually wrapped kilograms of suspected cocaine were discovered by scuba divers on Wednesday in approximately 100 feet of water in the Atlantic Ocean, authorities confirmed.

According to Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson Adam Linhardt, deputies responded to the Rainbow Reef Dive Center in Key Largo around 12:25 p.m., where divers reported finding what they believed to be trash, leading to the discovery.

Subsequently, the MCSO divers handed over 25 kilograms of cocaine to the U.S. Border Patrol.

According to authorities, the 25 kilos of cocaine are valued at more than $1 million.
