Caught on Camera: Man stabbed at Dania Beach gas station

Reward offered for information that leads to arrest

DANIA BEACH, Fla. – Broward Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information about a stabbing that occurred last week in Dania Beach.

The stabbing was reported at 11:56 p.m. May 19 at the Sunoco gas station at 1201 S. Federal Highway.

According to authorities, the victim was stabbed as he was standing near his vehicle before the suspect fled on foot, heading south on South Federal Highway.

The incident was captured on surveillance video.

In the video, the hooded suspect is seen stabbing the man in the side before making a run for it.

Detectives say this appears to be a random attack on a stranger.

“I just saw the video. I thought it was crazy,” a store clerk told Local 10 News Friday.

The clerk, who didn’t want to be identified, said she is hopeful someone recognizes the hooded assailant. She said she’s never seen him there before.

Detectives said the victim was armed with a gun and shot at the man who stabbed him, trying to chase him down, but he was unsuccessful.

Anyone with information about the stabbing or the culprit’s identity is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
