MIAMI – Authorities released dashcam footage Friday showing the arrest of a Miami woman accused of attacking two men with Windex and a screwdriver following a crash on the MacArthur Causeway.
Acklynn Byamugisha was arrested on May 20 following the incident. A friend told Local 10 News that the 26-year-old was “having an episode” at the time.
The video, released by the Florida Highway Patrol, shows Byamugisha claiming self-defense after she was handcuffed.
“He assaulted me. He literally pulled my hair and struck me,” she says in the recording.
Byamugisha was combative and very talkative in the backseat of a patrol car.
“F--- you,” she tells an officer. “Me having a screwdriver doesn’t matter if I never used it.”
Troopers say Byamugisha was driving a black BMW when it was rear-ended by a white SUV.
Then, a verbal dispute erupted involving the driver of the SUV and his father.
In the video, the suspect continued to talk to troopers throughout.
“Don’t even touch me, do not look at me. The next time you see me, I will be in party clothes,” Byamugisha says.
She displayed bizarre behavior in front of Local 10′s cameras, waving and even dancing.
Eventually, she was hauled off to jail and is facing serious charges.
Byamugisha is facing an aggravated assault and battery charge. She has since bonded out of jail.
