MIAMI – Miami police arrested a 27-year-old woman this week after they said she kidnapped her ex-girlfriend’s child.
Paula Andrea Sucre, of Miramar, was taken into custody Tuesday.

According to her arrest report, Sucre picked up the victim’s child from his or her school in Miami Tuesday afternoon without the victim’s knowledge or consent.
Police said the victim asked Sucre to bring her child to her location, in the area of Northwest Second Avenue and Ninth Street, or to take the child to her mother’s home.
Police said Sucre went to the location where her ex-girlfriend was and parked her vehicle in the parking lot.
But as the victim approached the car to get her child, Sucre drove off with the child still inside the car, authorities said.
According to the arrest report, the child’s mother called Sucre, and Sucre told her she would only return her child to her if they reconciled.
Police said a detective placed a felony hit on Sucre’s vehicle – a dark gray Lexus – and the vehicle was located a short time later in the parking lot of a laundromat in the area of Northwest 13th Avenue and Seventh Street.
According to the report, a second woman was also inside Sucre’s vehicle, and she claimed to police that Sucre had told her that she had gotten into a verbal dispute with her ex-girlfriend earlier in the day and had told her to leave her home.
Police said the witness said Sucre told her she had tried to call her ex-girlfriend’s cellphone several times but the victim didn’t answer.
Sucre was arrested on one count of kidnapping.
Police said she provided a statement to officers, however that statement was redacted from the publicly released report.
As of Thursday morning, Sucre remained held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center where her bond had yet to be set.
