According to his arrest report, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a cyber-tip from Meta platforms, including Facebook, on Dec. 24, 2022, that Orono-Gotera had uploaded files containing child sexual abuse material and shared the files with 10 other Facebook subscribers.
Police said seven of the Facebook users are listed as adults in their profiles and three are listed as juveniles.
According to the report, a search warrant was obtained for Orono-Gotera’s Facebook account, which revealed numerous files containing child pornography involving boys who appeared to be as young as 4 to 6 years old.
A video depicting bestiality was also found during the search, authorities said.
“It should be noted, although the defendant was charged with possession of 15 counts of CSAM, the defendant was also in possession of over 100 CSAM and videos/photographs of child erotica,” the report stated.
Police said Orono-Gotera was located at his “temporary” home in Cutler Bay on Tuesday by U.S. Secret Service special agents, who detained him for further questioning.
Police said he permitted law enforcement officials to search his phone, at which time it was discovered that he had multiple VPN applications downloaded on his device.
According to his arrest report, he invoked his rights and was not questioned further.
Orono-Gotera, who police said is a Venezuelan citizen in the U.S. on Temporary Protective Status, remained held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on Wednesday.
