Aventura man, 50, faces multiple child sex crime charges

Carlos Borges-Soto (MDCR)

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Miami-Dade police arrested an Aventura man over the weekend on multiple child sex crime charges after authorities accused him of sending a girl lewd text messages and performing sex acts on her in a Winn-Dixie parking lot.

According to an arrest report, the northeast Miami-Dade girl, now 16, spoke with police about the case on Sunday.

She told police that Carlos Eduardo Borges-Soto, 50, first kissed her near the mouth and started to text her when she was 15, the report states.

Police said the text messages turned sexual, with Borges-Soto sending “multiple text messages and voice notes to the victim telling her he misses kissing her passionately, misses making love to her, misses touching her and being inside of her.”

The arrest report states that Borges-Soto twice took the girl to the Winn-Dixie at 980 Ives Dairy Road and “engaged in sexual activity inside of his vehicle.”

Authorities said he waived his right to an attorney Sunday and made an admission, which was subsequently redacted from the publicly-released report.

Borges-Soto, facing two counts of lewd and lascivious conduct on a child under 16 and one count of unlawful sexual activity with a minor, was being held in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $30,000 bond as of Tuesday afternoon, according to jail records.

If he posts bond, he’ll be under house arrest, those records show.
