MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Miami Gardens police have made an arrest following a shooting that occurred earlier this year.
Jerrard Anthony Daniels, 50, of Miami, was taken into custody Wednesday on charges of attempted first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

According to his arrest report, the shooting occurred March 27 outside the Five Star Market, located at 16162 NW 27th Ave.
Police said officers arrived at the scene to find the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.
Detectives later discovered that the bullet had entered one leg, exited and struck the other leg.
According to the report, the victim claimed that Daniels pulled up to the food mart in a gray car and questioned him about hanging around with another man in the area.
The victim said he pushed Daniels away when Daniels tried to hit him with a gun, and Daniels then shot him.
According to the report, police obtained surveillance video from the area which shows the two men arguing before Daniels punches the victim in the face.
Police said the victim then threw his drink at Daniels, at which time Daniels pulled out a gun from his waistband and shot the victim.
He then got back into his car and drove away, authorities said.
According to the report, records show Daniels is a convicted felon for first-degree murder, second-degree murder, robbery, felon in possession of a firearm, narcotics and a federal conviction for narcotics sales.
Police redacted a statement given by Daniels in the publicly released report.
