After announcing themselves as police, officers began breaking up the fight and the individuals involved started returning to their vehicles, authorities said.
Police said one person, identified as Tyrese Smith, 24, of Philadelphia, refused to obey the officers’ commands and “repeatedly got out of the vehicle multiple times to entice the other parties,” the arrest form stated.
When Smith got back in his vehicle, an officer told Smith that if he got out of his car again, he would be arrested.
According to police, that’s when Smith, still inside his vehicle, reached out and grabbed the officer by the shirt and pulled him toward the car.
The officer deployed his Taser, after which Smith got out of the car, “squared up” with the officer to fight and stated, “F--- that, I’ll beat your a-- too. Let’s go,” according to the form.
After the officer then fired a second taser cartridge at Smith, he fell to the ground and officers were able to take him into custody, though officers said they needed to “drive stun” Smith while he was on the ground due to him continuing to resist, per the arrest form.
Smith is facing felony charges of battery on a police officer and resisting arrest with violence.
