1 dead, 1 injured after shooting left 31 bullet casings at crime scene in Miami-Dade

Crime scene includes restaurant, gas station in North Miami Beach

NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Detectives were investigating a homicide on Saturday in northern Miami-Dade County after a shooting on Friday night left crime scenes outside a restaurant and a gas station in North Miami Beach.

According to the North Miami Beach Police Department, ShotSpotter tech detected 17 rounds fired and investigators recovered 31 bullet casings at Northeast 159 Street and 18 Avenue.

Police officers responded to a Marathon Gas Station, at 2201 NE 163 St., and found a female and a male who had both been shot in the neck, according to NMBPD.

The crime scene also included the parking lot of the McDonald’s, at 2201 NE 163 St. A yellow tarp covered the trunk and tag of a parked car.

According to NMBPD, hospital staff later pronounced the female victim dead.
