HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Police are investigating a shooting that they say left one person dead and two others hospitalized at a neighborhood in Hollywood Thursday afternoon.

According to Hollywood police spokeswoman Deanna Bettineschi, the shooting occurred around 4:30 p.m. at a residential area near the 5800 block of McKinley Street.

Upon arrival, Hollywood police said they found three victims, one of whom was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said the two other victims were transported as “trauma alerts” to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood.

Bettineschi said there is “no suspect believed to be at large at this time.”

Sky 10 flew over the scene just before 5:30 p.m. where police officers and firefighters were seen attending to people and focusing on a home in the area.

Neighbors told Local 10 News the victim was a 53-year-old man who was well known and well liked in the area.

That man’s family arrived at the scene and was observed speaking with officers and residents.
