COCONUT CREEK, Fla. – A Coconut Creek woman celebrated her 104th birthday over the weekend.
Olga Torregrossa was able to enjoy her birthday with loved ones and Local 10 News.
Torregrossa was born in May 1920 in Hoboken, New Jersey, and in 1939, she married Tom Torregrossa, a U.S. Postal employee.
Torregrossa said she was surprised at the heartwarming festivities, as both family and friends, along with the Coconut Creek Fire Rescue, continuously visited her home throughout the entire weekend, bearing gifts and treats.
Torregrossa has a son along with three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She moved to Florida in 1973, then moved to Coconut Creek in 2013.
Neighbors say Torregrossa is very active and can be seen roaming the streets walking at a steady pace in the community.
Besides walking the neighborhood, she also sweeps her own steps and walkway every day and still trims her own hedges.
Loved ones say she cooks for herself daily and brings an Italian pasta dish to her neighbor every Sunday.
