After police chase, Plantation officer arrests man accused of masturbating in public

PLANTATION, Fla. – A police officer reported finding a man who had pulled down his pink pants and was masturbating in public near the entrance of the JOANN fabric and craft store in Plantation.

According to a Plantation police report, Officer Jamesha Melazzi found Tyler Gresham on Tuesday near the store at 801 South University Drive, stepped out of the patrol car, and ordered him to stop.

“Tyler turned his head and made eye contact with me before disregarding my lawful orders and fleeing on foot,” Melazzi wrote, adding that she ran after him.

During the pursuit, Melazzi reported Gresham hopped a fence, ran into the pool area of the Camden Atlantic complex at 730 SW 78 Ave., and she arrested him, as he was trying to jump over another fence.

County inmate records show Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies booked Gresham on Tuesday at the main jail in Fort Lauderdale.

Gresham appeared in bond court on Wednesday facing charges of exposure of sexual organs and resisting arrest. His bond was $1,500.
