Garbage truck catches fire in southwest Miami-Dade

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Authorities are investigating after they say a garbage truck caught fire in southwest Miami-Dade Tuesday morning.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials said firefighters responded to the blaze just before 8 a.m. near the intersection of Southwest 157th Court and Southwest 139th Street.

Upon arrival, MDFR officials said firefighters found a fully engulfed garbage truck on fire in a residential area and quickly deployed a hose line to extinguish the fire and stop it from spreading.

There were no reported injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
