Apartment building fire injures 3, displaces 5 in Miami

Fire damages apartments in Little Havana’s Riverside area

MIAMI – A fire that appeared to have started in a dumpster and spread to a three-story apartment building injured three people and displaced five on Saturday in Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood.

Miami Fire Rescue personnel responded to the blaze at the small apartment building at about 3:45 a.m., at Southwest Second Street and Sixth Avenue in Little Havana’s Riverside area.

Fire rescue personnel treated the three injured just outside the building and the American Red Cross volunteers also responded to help the five displaced.

The cause of the fire was under investigation. Detectives asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
