MIAMI – The Florida Department of Law Enforcement considers Jose Ocampo a sexual predator. He is 33 years old and was at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on Wednesday in Miami-Dade County.
At 19 years old, prosecutors accused Ocampo of sexually abusing a child younger than 12 years old in 2010, in Miami-Dade. He was 20 when he was convicted and sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Ocampo was also sentenced to probation. According to the Florida Department of Corrections, correctional officers released Ocampo from prison on May 27, 2019, when his supervision started.
Records show state probation officers described Ocampo as “transient” and last listed his location on April 9 as Southwest 147 Avenue and 173 Terrace in Richmond West.
Miami-Dade police officers arrested Ocampo on Sunday and prosecutors filed a new domestic violence case against him for battery.
Ocampo appeared in court on Monday and a bond court judge set his bond at $2,500 and ordered a GPS total lockdown.
Ocampo’s probation is set to end on May 26, 2029. Corrections held him at TGK without bond on the probation case. Miami-Dade court records on the 2010 case show seven probation violations.
Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Elisabeth Espinosa was set to preside over the new domestic violence case. His arraignment hearing was set for 9 a.m., on June 4.
