AVENTURA, Fla. – A toddler who nearly drowned inside her family’s pool in Aventura last month continues to fight for her life.
Shlomi and Hannah Ezra continue to hope and pray after seeing their daughter’s survival as a miracle.
“There’s a lot of miracles and I believe she has been chosen by God to show people that miracles happen,” said Shlomi Ezra. “The next time, she will come downstairs dancing and singing like the way she did every day.”
It’s been 30 days since the couple’s 2-year-old daughter, Haleini Ezra, was found in a pool at her home in Aventura. She had been submerged for several minutes.
Doctors say they initially declared Haleini brain dead, stating that no one had ever recovered from such a condition. However, Shlomi Ezra holds onto faith, stating, “I believe in prayers. That is what is helping us.”
Every night, outside Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood, people gather in solidarity, understanding the grim odds but holding onto hope. They pray together, beseeching God for assistance.
Shlomi Ezra, who was seen wearing a shirt with his daughter’s photo on Monday, offered her a prayer: “In the name of God, may you have the light above you.”
Hannah Ezra told Local 10 News that she is grateful for the community’s support, saying, “We’re hoping that more people will participate in prayers outside of the hospital. The prayers are really helping.”
The Ezra’s are hoping that many will continue to pray for their little girl.
