Woman hurt after personal watercraft collide in Biscayne Bay

NORTH BAY VILLAGE, Fla. – A woman was taken to the hospital after a crash between two personal watercraft in Biscayne Bay Thursday afternoon, fire officials said.

According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, crews responded to the scene, southeast of Osprey Island, near North Bay Village, just before 3 p.m.

Video from Sky 10 showed the victim being loaded onto a rescue boat.

The victim was rushed to Pelican Harbor Marina, wheeled up the ramp and into a waiting ambulance. She was then taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center.

Authorities haven’t provided details about her condition. The other operator wasn’t hurt.

Those emergency boats remainned in the bay for nearly an hour until those two personal watercraft could be towed away.
