BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – Broward County Public Schools is earning top marks when it comes to the best high schools across the country and in the state of Florida.
13 high schools are among the top public high schools in the nation, according to the annual rankings released this week by U.S. News & World Report.

Millennium 6-12 Collegiate Academy, Pompano Beach High School and McFatter Technical High School ranked in the top 2.5% nationwide. In addition, Atlantic Technical High School and Cypress Bay High School ranked in the top 5%.
These five schools are also recognized for being among the top 5% of high schools in Florida, with Millennium 6-12 Collegiate Academy ranking #2 in the state.
The rankings are based on 25,000 magnet and charter high schools in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
The magazine evaluated all the schools using a six-step analysis including Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) tests, school performance, math and reading proficiency, graduation rates and achievement gap.
