BSO: Driver suffers life-threatening injuries in Broward shooting

LAUDERHILL, Fla. – An investigation is underway after a man was found shot over the weekend in Lauderhill.

But Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies say the Sunday shooting happened somewhere else.

The incident spread across three areas in all -- Lauderhill, Lauderdale Lakes and Sunrise.

The shooting shut down a portion of Oakland Park Boulevard and left one man with life-threatening injuries.

A BMW was at the center of the shooting investigation. The back doors were open and the sunroof was broken. What appears to be two bullet holes were pierced through the back windshield.

According to a BSO spokesperson, deputies were dispatched around 3:30 p.m. Sunday to the 6400 block of Oakland Park Boulevard in Lauderhill.

A man was found shot inside of a vehicle, but authorities said the shooting actually occurred in the 5100 block of West Oakland Park Boulevard in LauderdaleLakes.

At least two bullets appear to have pierced the vehicle that drove from Lauderdale Lakes into Lauderhill.

Both scenes caused significant traffic delays. The motive for the shooting is unclear.

The investigation remains ongoing.
