BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – Deputies with the Broward Sheriff’s Office are searching for a man they suspect of luring a cat to its death, an agency spokesperson said Thursday.
Authorities said they discovered the dead cat Monday morning in the 300 block of Northwest 28th Terrace, in the Boulevard Gardens area of unincorporated central Broward County. The cat had bite marks, according to BSO.

They said the previous night, the suspect was seen “tossing an item at a cat on top of a car, encouraging the cat to jump down.”
“The cat did jump down, and at that point, two dogs began chasing the cat,” BSO spokesperson Carey Codd said in a news release. “Hours later, the cat was discovered deceased, and BSO was contacted.”
Broward Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the suspect’s capture. BSO shared a poster showing a surveillance still of the suspect, as well as his dogs.
