4 children, 1 adult hurt after driver slams into bus stop in northwest Miami-Dade

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A driver crashed into a bus stop just west of Interstate 95 in northwest Miami-Dade Thursday afternoon, sending four children and one adult to area hospitals, officials told Local 10 News.

The crash happened just before 3:15 p.m. near the intersection of Northwest Seventh Avenue and 99th Street, about a half-mile northeast of North Shore Medical Center.

Images from Sky 10 show a black Lexus sedan on the sidewalk, having crashed into a bus bench and shelter.

An MDFR spokesperson said medics took two children to Jackson Memorial Hospital as trauma alert patients.

The other victims, one adult and two children, were taken to other local area hospitals, the spokesperson said.

Officials haven’t yet provided information on their ages or exact conditions.

Miami-Dade police are investigating the crash.

Authorities haven’t said whether the driver will face any charges.
