Detectives accused Garcia Caso, of Tamiami, of defrauding Truist Bank of $56,500, by engaging in “a bust-out,” a type of credit fraud.
Garcia Caso allegedly got a credit card with a $6,500 credit limit on March 17, 2023, a $30,000 vehicle loan on April 5, 2023, and a $20,000 personal on April 20, 2023, records show.
Detectives claim Garcia Caso didn’t report earnings from 2021 to 2023. The Florida Department of Health records show the state issued her license on Aug. 4.
According to the police report, when Garcia Caso applied for the loan she reported having a job at Miami-based Cano Health, which announced a bankruptcy filing earlier this year.
The arrest report did not explain how detectives identified the difference between the alleged consumer fraud and bad debt. Garcia Caso was facing two counts of grand theft and organized fraud.
