Man who suffers from mental illness reported missing in Pompano Beach

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – The Broward Sheriff’s Office Missing Persons Unit is searching for a 45-year-old man who has been reported missing from Pompano Beach.

According to BSO spokeswoman Gerdy St. Louis, Ahmed Gilbert was last seen around 10 a.m. Monday at 2510 NE Third Avenue.

St. Louis said Gilbert is about 5 feet, 6 inches tall, weighs around 160 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray shirt and black pants.

She said Gilbert’s family told authorities he is autistic and suffers from mental illnesses that require medication.
