HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – The 34-year-old woman accused of being involved in a bi-county chase on Interstate 95 that ended in a crash appeared in court on Saturday.
Jacqueline Marie Maxson was wearing a green anti-suicide smock when she appeared before Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Carmen Cabarga during bond court.
According to Lt. Alex Camacho, a spokesman for the Florida Highway Patrol, troopers reported Maxson was driving a BMW coupe recklessly northbound on I-95, in the area of Northwest 103 Street.
“The vehicle was driving on the emergency shoulder and passing other vehicles at a high rate of speed,” Camacho wrote. “The vehicle failed to stop, causing a short pursuit to ensue. Troopers ended the pursuit by conducting a successful PIT maneuver.”
According to Camacho, Maxson’s BMW collided with a burgundy sports utility vehicle on I-95, near Hollywood Boulevard in Broward County, and stopped. Maxson suffered minor injuries.
Maxson was facing charges of reckless driving, fleeing and eluding police, and resisting an officer without violence. Cabarga set her bond at $8,150.
