MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Police in Miami Shores have announced the arrest of an escaped fugitive and his accomplice following an incident at a Dollar Tree earlier this month.
The initial incident was reported in the area of Northwest 99th Street and 12th Avenue on March 7.

According to police, the man, who they identified as 37-year-old Michael Felix was being aggressive with customers at a Dollar Tree store located at 9055 Biscayne Boulevard and was initially arrested for battery to a police officer.
Felix was then taken to North Shore Medical Center after complaining of not feeling well.
Police said while inside the hospital receiving treatment, Felix fled from the emergency room. Investigators confirmed that he was aided by 39-year-old Sandra Gabriel, who claimed to be his wife.
Authorities confirmed Felix and Gabriel were located and apprehended Tuesday without incident by Miami Shores Police Department detectives and Miami-Dade Police Department officers near the area of Northeast Second Avenue and Northeast 141st Street in Miami.
Jail records show Felix is now facing charges of escaping while in police custody, battery on a law enforcement officer. resisting arrest with violence and providing a false name after arrest.
Police said he also had an open warrant out of Miami-Dade County on an unrelated charge,
They confirmed Gabriel is facing charges of aiding an escaped inmate and accessory after the fact.
As of Wednesday, Felix and Gabriel are both being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where their total bond was set at $36,000.
