MIAMI – A 37-year-old woman showed up at Jackson Memorial Hospital’s emergency room on Saturday with a swollen jaw and bleeding. She told police she had experienced horrific domestic violence at the hands of Kenneth Hubert, according to a Miami police report released on Tuesday.
Hubert, 28, later told police that he had known her for about four years as a friend “with benefits;” she reported he was her boyfriend, according to the police report. Their versions of what happened on Friday night were different, but both included a gun and marijuana.

“I briefly spoke to ... nurse who stated the bleeding and blood clots were due to the incident,” Officer Jesica Nardoni wrote in her report referring to a sexual battery.
Hubert told police he usually has a firearm clipped on his boxers, and the woman reported he threatened to shoot her several times. Both agreed Hubert was annoyed at her texting. She reported he snatched her phone away.
The woman also reported Hubert was strangling her until his 2-year-old son walked in, and his family smoked marijuana and grabbed her again by the neck when they were gone. She also reported that when she declined to have sex, he raped her.
“She went to the bathroom and realized she had blood in her urine and blood clots,” Nardoni wrote in her report. “She grabbed her phone and walked outside. [Hubert] woke up and went outside after her, grabbed her, and pulled her back inside the house ... He slapped her on the face and reached for his firearm.”
The woman said she was able to escape when Hubert’s mother called him and he went inside. A felony apprehension team found Hubert and arrested him on Monday near Northwest First Place and 13 Street in Miami’s Overtown neighborhood.
Hubert denied any wrongdoing and said his sister had been involved in a car crash on Friday evening, so he went to the hospital with his family and left the woman alone at his home. Police officers arrested Hubert and correctional officers booked him shortly after 2 a.m., on Tuesday.
Hubert appeared in court and remained at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on Tuesday afternoon facing new charges in two cases in Miami-Dade County court.
One of the cases has 10 felony charges: Sexual battery with a deadly weapon causing serious injury, three counts of aggravated battery with bodily harm involving a firearm, kidnapping, robbery by sudden snatching, two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and two counts of domestic battery by strangulation.
The other case is for three charges: Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, carrying a concealed firearm, and resisting an officer without violence.
Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Teresa Mary Pooler is set to preside over the cases.
