Miami-Dade unveils plans for new Dadeland South Intermodal Station

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – The Dadeland South Metrorail Station corridor is getting a makeover.

Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, in conjunction with the Department of Transportation and Public Works, announced the commencement of the Dadeland South Intermodal Station project with a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday morning.

The station, which is currently over 40 years old, will undergo upgrades to “improve its connectivity, reliability, safety and parking,” a press release stated. Additionally, more canopies will be constructed to shield commuters from South Florida’s unpredictable weather.

Miami-Dade Commissioner Raquel Regalado announced a $66 million renovation Tuesday to facilitate a seamless connection to the county’s inaugural Bus Rapid Transit system, with completion expected by next fall.
