It had been stolen on Monday in Homestead. The police pursuit started near Southwest 152nd Avenue and Lincoln Drive when Brown refused to stop, according to detectives.

The detectives reported that after using “police emergency equipment” on the unmarked car Brown “looked back” at them several times and continued to speed away recklessly — even when they deactivated the equipment and followed him at a distance.

Brown abandoned the motorbike and took off running near Southwest 288 Street and Kentucky Road, but detectives caught up to him, according to the police report.

Detectives reported arresting him shortly before 7 p.m., on Monday, and Miami-Dade correctional officers booked him after midnight on Tuesday at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

Brown appeared before Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Leon M. Firtel on Tuesday.

Records show Brown’s Florida driver’s license had been suspended on March 11. The prosecution said Brown was on probation until 2026 in Hillsborough County and corrections considered him a violent offender.

Brown was facing charges in two new cases. One case was for grand theft, and the other was for fleeing and eluding police. He also had two warrant cases for driving with a suspended license and reckless driving.

Firtel set his bond at $5,000. Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Laura Maria Gonzalez-Marques was set to preside over the case.
