Memorial held at Cooper City Church of God

COOPER CITY, Fla. – The Broward Education Foundation set up a fund in memory of a teenage boy whose grieving family needs support.

Anthony “Ant” Malec, a Cooper City High School student, was riding an electric scooter diagonally to school when a woman driving a Tesla eastbound struck him on March 18.

The collision was near Stirling Road and Northwest 94 Avenue — just steps away from the school. A doctor later pronounced the 11th-grade student dead at Memorial Regional Hospital.

There was a memorial at the neighboring Cooper City Church of God on Monday. For more information about how to help the Malec family, visit the Broward Education Foundation’s site.
