Final weekend of spring break met by forecast full of rainy weather

First night of Ultra suspended due to poor weather

MIAMI – Some South Florida business owners aren’t happy as we begin the final unofficial spring break weekend.

That’s because they hoped for a business boost, but now they’re seeing dark clouds and rainy weather.

Friday night, a heavy downpour didn’t stop the party at Ultra Music Festival downtown, until organizers suspended the show due to the poor weather.

Visiting Fort Lauderdale from Dallas for her bachelorette party, Kaylee Jacks told Local 10 News she is taking full advantage of an empty Fort Lauderdale Beach.

“We were originally gonna go to South Beach, but we heard there’s a curfew,” she said.

Another group of friends from San Diego canceled their plans to spend the week in Miami Beach because of the crime crackdown and spring break curfew, all done in an effort to quell chaos.

Many looking to have a good time for spring break migrated to Fort Lauderdale Beach, only to end up in wet, rainy weather.

Police officers remained on hand to manage crowds, who were expected to gather for one last weekend of partying.
