Police search for subject who escaped after being arrested in Miami Shores

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Police in Miami Shores set up a perimeter after they said a subject escaped from custody on Sunday afternoon.

Authorities said they were looking for the man in the area of Northwest 99th Street and 12th Avenue.

According to police, the man was being aggressive with customers at a Dollar Tree store located at 9055 Biscayne Boulevard and was initially arrested for battery to a police officer.

The subject was then taken to North Shore Medical Center after complaining of not feeling well, and it was while he was at the hospital that police said he eluded them.

Police said they are not releasing the name of the subject yet, and that the search is ongoing.
