Police make 2 arrests after infant found dead in Hollywood dumpster

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Authorities have made a pair of arrests after a baby was found dead in a dumpster earlier this year.

Hollywood Police said they have arrested the mother of that baby and a man who helped dispose of the body.

The body was found by a construction worker in a dumpster outside an apartment complex off Rodman Street and US-1 on Jan. 8.

Police identified Brenda Feliciano as the mother of that infant. She has been charged with failure to report a death.

Terence Warren is accused of disposing of the baby’s body. He is charged with failure to report a death and improper disposal of a dead body.

Warren appeared in bond court Friday where a prosecutor listed his extensive criminal record to the judge.

David Vazquez, the construction worker, said he found the baby’s body inside a blue plastic bag.

He said he noticed a bad smell coming from the bag.

According to arrest affidavits, police said the child was a baby boy and that he appeared to be full term without any signs of trauma.

He was not wearing any clothing and his umbilical cord was still attached, the reports stated.

Police also said they obtained video that showed Warren pulling up in a car right beside the dumpster and throwing the bag inside.

Warren remains behind bars at the Broward County Jail on a $1,500 bond.

The tragedy comes despite the law in Florida that allows the surrender of infants to fire stations or hospitals without punishment.

The baby’s cause of death has not yet been released.
