Miami-Dade man accused of attacking pregnant girlfriend during argument over personal hygiene

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A Miami-Dade County man was arrested Thursday after beating his pregnant girlfriend while they were arguing about “each other’s personal hygiene,” authorities said.

According to an arrest report, Robert Stuart, 23, and the victim have been together for three years and she is currently seven months pregnant with his child.

Police said officers responded to their home in the 2300 block of Northwest 97th Street just after 4 p.m. Thursday in reference to a battery on a pregnant woman.

Police said the victim claimed that she had entered the bathroom to brush her teeth, at which time she and Stuart got into an argument about each other’s personal hygiene.

Police said Stuart left but then returned to the bathroom and began to pull the victim’s hair and punch her in the face multiple times.

According to the report, the victim refused to be evaluated by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, however police took photos of her injuries.

Stuart was arrested on a battery charge.

As of Friday afternoon, he was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and his bond had yet to be set.
