Coral Springs police officer jumps into canal, frees people from submerged vehicle

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – A police officer dove into action after a car was driven into a canal in Broward County.

It happened on Thursday afternoon in the area of West Sample Road and Riverside Drive in Margate.

According to police, the officer spotted two people trapped inside a partially-submerged vehicle and jumped in the water.

That officer ended up smashing the car’s windows in order to free the people inside.

Police said everyone in the vehicle made it out safely.
